We are very thankful for the generosity of individual and business donors and would like to extend a special "thank you" to the congregations who have donated to our campaign. Camp Swatara belongs to the congregations of the ANE and their support is imperative to our success. Please visit our Congregational "Thank You" page for more information about congregational giving.
We have reached the 75% mark on our way to our $800,000 gaol. Support remains strong to help us realize that challenge and amazing things are happening because of that giving. In 2014, a new bridge was installed and is now in use by thousands of vehicles and pedestrians every year. During the fall of 2015, the main camp roadways were resurfaced--an important and noticeable infrastructure improvement. And now, in 2016, Camp's attention is turning to building renovation projects in the West Area. Crews from Renovations By Garman will begin work on the West Retreat facility in September and we hope to begin improvements on the West Lodge when we reach our goal.
Paving from Camp Swatara Road, over the new bridge, through Family Camp and to the edge of the West Area has been completed. Final paving to the West Lodge will be complete following renovations to the West Retreat and West Lodge. Take a virtual ride on the new paving on your choice of vehicles!
The bridge is open! A crowd of several hundred gathered to watch the ribbon cutting, join in a parade and enjoy a meal on Sunday, May 24 to officially open our new bridge.
Thanks to the Past, Present and Future campers who made this possible!
Representative of Camp's Board, Campaign Committee, Property Commission, Staff, West Green Tree CoB (the builders of the original bridge) and Future Campers were on hand to break ground for the new bridge today.
Construction is scheduled to begin later this fall and will be live-streamed on our website.
Every person on Camp's Staff, Board and Capital Campaign committee has made faith commitments to Camp exceeding $100,000. Not only does this provide a strong foundation for the campaign but it also demonstrates the commitment to Camp and this campaign held by the leadership of Camp Swatara.
The silent initial phase of the Building Bridges Capital Campaign has begun. The Capital Campaign Committee has formed and pledges are being secured from the committee, Camp Staff and boards.
